Sadly, we lost actor and comedian Anthony Johnson late last year. The Friday star died unexpectedly at the age of 55 on Sept. 6, 2021. Johnson's widow has now gone public with his cause of death.
Anthony Johnson's wife reveals his cause of death
Johnson was married to Lexis Jones Mason, and she joined TMZ in announcing her late husband's cause of death. It was "chronic ethanol use."
Ethanol is a liquid chemical compound better known as alcohol. Per TMZ, Johnson did not have alcohol or drugs in his system when he died and otherwise "the manner of death was natural."
In her late husband's memory, Lexis is creating a foundation and making young people aware of the deadly consequences of alcohol abuse.

Anthony Johnson was a stand-up comedian and actor best known from the '90s comedy Friday. He played "Ezal" in the Ice Cube and Chris Tucker film.
Johnson also starred in I Got the Hook-Up and appeared in Lethal Weapon 3 and Menace II Society.
Tragically, on Sept. 6, 2021, he was rushed to hospital after falling unresponsive at a store in LA. He died in an LA county hospital at just 55.
