Freida Pinto is happy that she and now-husband Cory Tran decided to elope because of how relaxed their nuptials ended up being! On Wednesday, the Slumdog Millionaire actress appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she opened up about her big news and shared that an elaborate wedding was never in the couple's plans.
Pinto reveals she and Tran got married at the Honda Center
Pinto revealed that she had already tied the knot in secret after Clarkson asked her about wedding planning! She and Tran were engaged since November 2019, and are currently expecting their first child together. Unlike some celebrity couples who postponed weddings because of the pandemic though, they decided that quarantine was the perfect time to make a lifelong commitment to one another.
Rather than being the kind of splashy and expensive affair Indian weddings are known for, the actress told Clarkson that her wedding "was just going to be something pretty and simple, probably in Big Sur." While the COVID-19 pandemic may have changed these initial plans, Pinto and Tran still got married in California. Anaheim's Honda Center arena served as the venue for their big day, which Pinto said was "perfect".
The star then went on to comment on how planning a wedding can be a stressful experience. She explained that the decision to forgo a fancy ceremony meant that immediately after she and Tran were wed, they "got to go home and take an afternoon nap." While their nuptials may have been low-key, it's still an exciting step for Pinto and her beau. Congratulations to the couple!
