The Forbes Celebrity 100 has been released since 1999. In that first year, Michael Jordan earned #1. A few celebs have been crowned champion more than once: Tom Cruise (2001, 2006), Floyd Mayweather Jr. (2015, 2018), and Taylor Swift (2016, 2019). Some stars always seem to make the top ten list. For 11 times since Forbes started keeping track, filmmaker Steven Spielberg has been in the top ten. That's third overall with golfer Tiger Woods earning the silver medal at 12 consecutive appearances in the top ten. Woods has also been the second wealthiest celeb of the year more times than anyone (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008).
The latter three times, he just couldn't outdo the queen of wealth herself: Oprah Winfrey. Not only has she been #1 five times (2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2013) but has 15 appearances in the top ten. She almost got the record for consecutive appearances but she failed to make the top ten in 2004. The wealthiest celebrity for 2020 has been moving up the board recently. In 2018, she was #3 and she was in the second position in 2019. Find out who this year's champion celeb is by watching the video above. You can also hear about the rest of Forbes top ten for 2020.
