Born July 8th, 1958, American actor Kevin Bacon would leave home at the age of 17 to pursue an acting career. Getting his start with NYC theater, it wouldn't take long for Kevin to start his rise to fame!
In addition to Broadway, some of Kevin Bacon's earliest screen appearances were in popular soap operas Search for Tomorrow and Guiding Light, and also 1980 slasher film Friday the 13th. After getting a foot in both the theater and film worlds, Kevin Bacon was the perfect fit for 1984's musical drama film Footloose.

After first starring in 1982's comedy drama Diner, Kevin Bacon would gain the attention of critics and audiences alike leading to his casting in 1984's Footloose. Cast into the role of high school teenager "Ren McCormick", Kevin would continue to impress audiences with his talent and good looks!

To prepare for the part, Kevin who was 26 at the time, would go back to high school before filming to really get into character! His dedication paid off, and following his outstanding performance in Footloose, Kevin would cement his teenage image in Hollywood, for better and for worse!

After finally breaking away from the high school typecast in the 1990s, Kevin Bacon would continue to bring home success after success including in legal thriller JFK (1991), Apollo 13 (1995), Mystic River (2003), and Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011). With a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Emmy under his belt, Kevin, now 63, has become an icon in Hollywood, both on the big screen and television.
When he's not busy turning out success after success, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife of 33 years, actress Kyra Sedgwick and their two children, son Travis (32) and daughter Sophie (29).
