• A state banquet was held at the White House
  • Joanna and Chip Gaines were invited
  • The two dressed up and looked amazing

Joanna (45) and Chip Gaines (48) recently received a great honour. The couple, best known for their home renovation show 'Fixer Upper', were invited to a gala dinner at the White House. The two stars swapped their everyday clothes for elegant looks.

Here's how chic Joanna and Chip Gaines were at the gala dinner

Chip opted for a classic black suit and black tie. He had casually gelled his hair back. We hardly recognize the craftsman like this!

Wife Joanna Gaines also stunned in a black look. She wore a long, one-shoulder dress that gently hugged her toned figure. The banquet was particularly a special event for her, as she reveals on Instagram:

"What an honour to be able to attend the state banquet celebrating 70 years of friendship between the United States and South Korea, my mother's home country. Especially since we had just had an incredible trip to Seoul, this evening reminded me once again how proud I can be of being a Korean-American," she writes.

There are many compliments for the outfits of the two from the fans in the comments. A user has a question about their invitation to the White House: "Did you look around in there and think, Hmmmm, this piece goes here and that piece goes there, they should throw out this piece of furniture and replace it with this thing?”
