- The 2023 Oscars took place on Sunday
- The ceremony featured John Travolta
- He was left in tears during THIS speech
The Oscars are always a momentous night, and emotions are always high for more than one reason. Every year, the ceremony acknowledges stars who have passed on to the next life during the previous year. And this time, it was the legendary John Travolta who had to do give the speech.
John and Olivia had a special friendship
He moderated the saddest part of the ceremony: honoring the deceased stars of the past year. In doing so he said this: "Each of them left an individual and undebatable mark [...] They’ve touched our hearts, they made us smile, and became dear friends who we will always remain hopelessly devoted to."
Also interesting:
"Hopelessly devoted" - with these words he directly quoted a song title by his deceased co-star and good friend Olivia Newton-John. She sang the song "Hopelessly Devoted To You" as "Sandy" in 1978, in Grease, the legendary film starring the two actors.
