- Julian Lennon faces skin cancer again
- Emergency surgery saves musician's life
- A call for regular health checks
Julian Lennon (61), the eldest son of Beatles icon John Lennon, is once again facing a health challenge. During a routine check-up in Los Angeles, he was diagnosed with skin cancer after his dermatologist noticed concerning changes to his arm. One of these changes was identified as a melanoma, which required immediate surgery.
Emergency surgery saves musician's life
After appearing on the morning show 'Good Morning America' in New York City, Julian Lennon decided to cancel his planned Christmas break and return to Los Angeles. There, he underwent several hours of surgery. "So instead of going home to put my Christmas tree up and happily finish the year off, relaxing at home, I flew directly back to Los Angeles, after all my work in New York was done, and went directly from LAX airport, to surgery," Lennon wrote on X. The surgery was successful, but the musician must now wait for biopsy results to confirm that the cancer has been fully removed.
A call for regular health checks
Having previously battled skin cancer a few years ago, Lennon used the opportunity to stress the importance of preventive healthcare. "please get yourself checked out by your doctor… It only takes a short while to do so, and you may just be saving your own life," he wrote on Instagram. He expressed his gratitude to the doctors who saved his life again and is now hoping for good news before Christmas.
