- This is what's known about the Musk children
From Tesla to SpaceX and now Twitter, Elon Musk is everywhere these days. But he keeps busy not only in the business world...
Musk is also the father of at least nine children, with three different partners. Here's what we know about the Musk kids.
Triplets, twins, and a rift: All about Elon Musk's children
Elon Musk actually had a first child in 2002 with his wife Justine Wilson. But the newborn sadly passed from sudden infant death syndrome at 10 weeks old.
Musk and Wilson then had twins in 2004 and triplets in 2006. Elon and Justine's twins were born Xavier and Griffin, but Xavier Musk transitioned and changed her name to Vivian Wilson on her 18th birthday.
In changing her surname to her mother's, Vivian revealed a rift with her father. Legal documents showed her to have said: "I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."
Also interesting:
The names of Elon and Justine's triplets are: Kai, Damian, and Saxon. They're still teenagers, so little is known about them today.
Elon Musk's kids with Grimes and Shivon Zilis
And then there's little X Æ A-Xii Musk. The youngster with a one-of-a-kind name (pronounced X Ash A Twelve) was born to Elon and musician Grimes in 2020.
Fittingly, Grimes and Musk's second child, born in 2021, is known as Y. But her full name is Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.
Then in 2022, it came out that Musk had also fathered twins the year prior with Shivon Zilis, a business associate.
The names of the Musk-Zilis twins are not yet known to the public. They're the most recent of the (known) Musk children born between 2002 and 2021.
On parenting, Elon Musk has said he'll have as many children as he is "able to spend time with and be a good father."
The wealthiest man in the world has also justified his large family by citing the questionable theory of an "underpopulation crisis."
