NBC reports that Elon Musk was met with both boos and cheers after being invited onstage at a Dave Chappelle comedy show.
On Dec. 11, the comedian called the tech billionaire onstage at a special Punchline Comedy Club Event at San Francisco's Chase Center.
NBC reports that a video shared on Twitter showed the Tesla CEO being met with a mix of applause and jeering.

After his high-profile takeover of the social media platform, Elon Musk has come under fire for concerns about mass layoffs and reduced content moderation.
As it was happening, Chappelle responded to booing members of the audience, saying, "It sounds like some of those people you fired are in the audience."

NBC reports that the owner of the video was either suspended from Twitter or took the video down, leaving a message that reads: "This Tweet is from an account that no longer exists."

Musk, who reportedly remained silent while on stage, responded to the incident in a Twitter post on Dec. 12.
"Technically, it was 90% cheers & 10% boos (except during quiet periods), but, still, that's a lot of boos, which is a first for me in real life (frequent on Twitter). It's almost as if I've offended SF's unhinged leftists... but nahhh," wrote Elon Musk, via Twitter.
On Dec. 11, Musk drew criticism for tweeting about outgoing U.S. chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci.
NBC reports that the tweet served to contribute to a wave of online abuse and conspiracy theories aimed at the United States' top virologist.
