Elizabeth Hurley didn't forget Hugh Grant's 60th birthday— she was just waiting to post something special for him! As Entertainment Tonight shares, while Grant's special day was on Wednesday, Hurley took to social media on Friday to make her birthday tribute.
Hurley honours Grant's birthday with Love, Actually clip
Hurley shared a video of Grant's infamous dancing scene from the 2003 movie Love, Actually on Instagram! In the clip, Grant's character "The Prime Minister" can be seen letting loose and dancing all over the place, thinking that no one is watching him. The actress also included a heartfelt yet humorous birthday message for the ex.
"A belated (because it took me two days to work out how to screen record)," Hurley explained in the caption of her Instagram post. "Happy 60th Birthday to the glorious Hugh Grant - a magnificent addition to the human race- even though he looks like a monkey. ❤️ you forever xxxx"
Hurley and Grant were in a relationship for years
Hurley and Grant may not be together now, but they dated for 13 years! As Entertainment Tonight mentions, the pair were in a relationship until May 2000, but have continued to be close in the years following their breakup. Grant is even the godfather of Hurley's 16-year-old son Damian!
Though Grant ended up marrying Anna Eberstein a couple years ago, Hurley couldn't be more thrilled for her former flame! "He seems very, very happy," she said to Harper's Bazaar of Grant during an interview in 2018. "He has three children with his wife, Anna, who is adorable, and he’s a very happy man."
Hurley is currently single, but said that she wants to fall "madly in love" with someone once the coronavirus pandemic is over. And while she had fun screen recording Grant's Love, Actually dance, the actor revealed in a BBC retrospective last year that he considered the scene "absolute hell" while filming the holiday rom-com! Thankfully he powered through with it, creating one of the most iconic moments in the movie and giving his ex a fun way to wish him happy birthday years later!
