British musician Ed Sheeran announced last December, through his Instagram account that he was going to take some time off and that he was going to come back with more music after a much-needed break. And everything now seems to indicate that in his first few months of "retirement" he could be having his first baby with his wife Cherry Seaborn.
The pregnancy was kept hidden by the couple as they took advantage of the isolation from the coronavirus pandemic to not spread the news. The first to give a clue about it, was Ed Sheeran's manager when he said that "things may change, he could have a young family relatively soon," to The Sun.
A source close to the couple confirms the news
According to a source close to Cherry and Ed, they confirmed the news to The Sun, despite taking advantage of the quarantine to go unnoticed. "Ed and Cherry are over the moon. They’re very excited but have kept things very low key. Lockdown was a perfect excuse not to be seen out and about too much, but things are getting closer and the excitement has been building so they have started telling friends and family."
The source continued, "They’re just making the last of the preparations at home, and the baby is expected later this summer. It’s a really happy time and their families are all totally delighted for them and cannot wait to meet the new arrival."
Seaborn and Sheeran were together in their school years, after several years they met again and as Ed mentions in his video for "Put It All On Me", there were fireworks. In that same clip, it was revealed that the couple celebrated nuptials in a discreet ceremony.
It is believed that Ed Sheeran will completely withdraw from the stage after his previous comments in an interview, where he explained that if he had children, it would be the only thing he would be available for because nothing will matter more to him in life than his children.
We are very happy for the couple and wish them all the best! Although we do hope to see more of Ed Sheeran and his fantastic music in the coming years.
