At his Colorado Springs, Colorado, rally on Thursday, US President Donald Trump shifted the focus of his speech to the results of the recent 92nd Academy Awards.
The President voiced his outrage about the Oscar for Best Picture going to Parasite, a film from South Korea. "What the hell was all that about? We got enough problems with South Korea, on trade, and on top of it they give it the best movie of the year. Was it good? I don’t know!"

Trump continued, making reference to some of his apparent favourite movies. "Can we get Gone with the Wind back, please? Sunset Boulevard? So many great movies," he said to a cheering crowd.
The social media response to Trump's take on the Oscars was largely negative. Many called out Gone with the Wind's outdated depictions of race and gender.
But a tweet by Neon, the American distributor of Parasite, went especially viral following Trump's rally comments.

Neon took advantage of the situation to reference the US President's rumoured difficulties with reading. Parasite, of course, is a South Korean film, so viewers need to read subtitles when watching it.
Trump went on to discuss Brad Pitt - who made reference to the President's impeachment trial during his acceptance speech for Best Actor at the Oscars.
"And then you have Brad Pitt, I was never a big fan of his," Trump said. "He got up, said a little wiseguy thing. He’s a little wiseguy."

The 2020 Oscars: Big wins for Parasite and Brad Pitt
The 2020 Oscars were a show full of surprises. Parasite was an upset winner for Best Picture, and also the first film not in the English language ever to win the Academy's top prize. The film's director, Bong Joon-ho, was also a surprise winner of Best Director at the ceremony.
Brad Pitt, meanwhile, made headlines for the charming and occasionally political speeches he made during the awards show season. Pitt collected many wins in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role as "Cliff Booth" in Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood in 2019.
Parasite in English: Coming soon to HBO
If Neon is correct about Trump and Parasite's subtitles, the US President may soon be in luck. HBO is adapting an English language version of the Best Picture-winner based on additional materials written by director Bong Joon-ho.
