Melissa Gilbert, known from the series Little House on the Prairie, accuses Kim Kardashian of sending a dangerous message to young women with her appearance at the Met Gala.
Kardashian decided to wear Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress to the event. Since the dress could not be altered, she had to lose over 15 lbs in just three weeks through a strict diet. Melissa Gilbert criticizes the reality star for the effort, calling it a step in the wrong direction.

Melissa Gilbert slammed Kim Kardashian: "We need to provide examples for young women of what aging well looks like, and what being healthy looks like, as opposed to telling them it's okay to lose 16 pounds to fit into Marilyn Monroe's dress."

Her goal is to inspire young women and to not let them feel pressured by unrealistic expectations. "I think that is a dangerous destructive message," Gilbert told Yahoo!
"Hopefully, I'm here to inspire other women to join this movement, to be who we are and know that this is not only is this enough, it’s more than enough."
Melissa Gilbert, 58, is currently promoting her new book, Back to the Prairie. In it she writes about finding nature and not fixating on her appearance.
