Deaths 2023: These Celebrities Recently Passed Away

'The Passion of the Christ' star Christo Jivkov passed away at the age of 48. he was best known for his role as "John" in the movie. The actor died after a long battle with cancer according to 'Deadline'.

Canadian actor Gordon Pinsent passed away on Feb. 25. His family told CBC News that he died "peacefully in sleep." He was 92.

Pinsent enjoyed a long career dating back to the 1950s, and he is best known from various Canadian TV shows and films, such as The Red Green Show, Away from Her, and The Grand Seduction. He was also the voice of "Babar the Elephant" for over 25 years.

Gordon Pinsent won many Canadian film and television awards, and his honours include The Order of Canada and a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Actor Richard Belzer passed away on Feb. 19. A friend of Belzer's shared the sad news with The Hollywood Reporter, noting that he'd been dealing with "lots of health issues." He was 78.

Richard Belzer is probably best known as the legendary detective "John Munch" from Law & Order: SVU and Homicide: Life on the Street. Early in his career, Belzer was also a stand-up comedian, and he appeared around many series of the 1990s, including The Flash and The Larry Sanders Show.

Belzer left SVU and retired from acting in 2016. He died at his home in France.

Actress Raquel Welch passed away on Feb. 15. According to TMZ, Welch's family shared that she died after a "brief illness." She was 82.

Raquel Welch is best remembered as a movie star and sex symbol whose career took off in the 1960s. Some of her famous films included Fantastic Voyage, The Three Musketeers, and Bedazzled. Known for her signature red hair, she was also a Playboy cover model and a Golden Globe winner.

Laverne & Shirley star Cindy Williams has passed away at the age of 75. Williams is best known for playing "Shirley Feeney" on the popular sitcom. According to CNN, she passed away after suffering a short illness.

Vampire Diaries star Annie Wersching has died at the age of 45 after a private battle with cancer. Her husband Stephen Full make a statement: "There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall."

Annie had been battling cancer since 2020. Rest in peace. 

Actor Lance Kerwin is dead at 62. The former child star died on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the age of 62. His daughter Savanah told 'Variety' that an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Lance Kerwin was known for the films 'The Loneliest Runner' and 'Salem's Lot' among others.

Musician David Crosby is dead. The sad news was reported by 'Variety' in mid-January, citing Crosby's wife. Accordingly, he died "after a long illness". He was 81 years old. David Crosby was a founding member of the bands The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. He performed at the legendary Woodstock Festival and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Gina Lollobrigida was one of the most beautiful women in film history. Especially in the fifties and sixties she could be seen in numerous films. Now the actress, who was probably one of the last living divas in Hollywood, has died at the age of 95. The sad news was confirmed by the Italian news agency 'Ansa' in mid-January. Accordingly, Gina Lollobrigida's health was poor in September last year after she had to go to the hospital with a broken thigh. She sustained the injury in a fall at her home. The Italian will not be forgotten thanks to successful films such as “Bread, Love and Dreams”, “Soloman and Sheba” or “Frisky”.

Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis and Priscilla Presley's only child, passed away on January 12. The singer was 54 years old. After coming to the hospital with symptoms of cardiac arrest, she died just a few hours later, reports CNN, among others.
