On X, Morrison made a rare but poignant plea: support the Matthew Perry Foundation this Giving Tuesday! "Listen up, folks! It's not every day I do this pitch, but today's different," the 'Dateline' correspondent penned with sincerity. "Giving Tuesday's here, and if you could lend a hand, it'd mean the world – he'd be thankful, no doubt."

The foundation, born from tragedy, aims to continue Perry's passionate fight against addiction, a battle he bravely faced in the public eye. His memoir, 'Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,' is a raw account of his journey, released just last year.
The shocking news of Perry's death on October 28th left fans reeling. Found unresponsive in his L.A. hot tub, the world awaits answers as the Medical Examiner's Office digs deep for toxicology reports.
Morrison has been married to Perry's mother, Suzanne, since 1981, when the actor was 12. The union came about a decade after she split from Perry's father, John Bennett Perry.
Launched earlier this month, in the wake of Perry's death, the Matthew Perry Foundation describes its mission as "the realization of Matthew's enduring commitment to helping others struggling with the disease of addiction. It will honor his legacy and be guided by his own words and experiences and driven by his passion for making a difference in as many lives as possible."
The foundation's website features a quote from Perry's 2022 appearance on the 'Q With Tom Power' podcast, in which he emphasized the importance of his work with addiction recovery.
"When I die, I don't want 'Friends' to be the first thing that's mentioned. I want helping others to be the first thing that's mentioned. And I'm going to live the rest of my life proving that," Perry said.
"Addiction is far too powerful for anyone to defeat alone. But together, one day at a time, we can beat it down."

But it's not just Morrison rallying support. Jennifer Aniston, Perry's 'Friends' co-star and close friend, took to Instagram with a heartfelt call-to-action: "For #GivingTuesday, let's honor Matty by backing his foundation, helping those in the grips of addiction. He'd be touched by the love."
Earlier, Aniston and the 'Friends' family shared a moving homage: "Saying goodbye to Matty has torn us apart... But in grief, we find gratitude for having loved him so deeply. Rest, little brother – you always lit up our lives."
So, what are you waiting for? Be part of Matthew Perry's enduring legacy and help light the path to recovery for many. Because that's what friends are for!
