Daniel Radcliffe is stepping away from his magical roots, and joining up with comedic songwriter "Weird Al" Yankovic. The singer and actor will be working alongside each other to create a biopic of Yankovic's life.
The movie is going to be readily available on Roku TV, and is being produced by Funny Or Die.
Weird Al is ready for the big screen
Streaming exclusively on the Roku Channel, Yankovic and Radcliffe will be working together and producing content in a way that is fitting for Yankovic. The comedian said that he always plans on producing a major motion picture every 33 years, and is right on track!
"When my last movie UHF came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork. I’m very happy to say we’re on schedule," he wrote in a statement.
"I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film," he continued. "I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for."
Yankovic holds the title as the best-selling comedic recording artist of all time, and rose to fame with hits like "Eat It", and "Amish Paradise".
The biopic will show his life as he emerges in Hollywood, covering his love affairs and wild lifestyle.
Production will kick off in February of this year.
