Dan Levy is trying to help people understand just how important it is to wear face masks right now! As People reports, the Schitt's Creek star took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a video where he implores that those who have chosen not to wear masks reconsider their decision.

"I've been seeing a lot of viral videos about people who are actively not wearing masks because they perceive it to be an infringement on their freedom," Levy said at the beginning of the video. "I suppose, in a way I can understand the frustration of being told what to do, which is why I would like to propose a re-contextualization of this whole thing."

Levy calls wearing masks "the simplest, easiest act of kindness"

Levy went on to talk about how wearing a face mask is actually an extremely considerate act. "Imagine seeing it not as an infringement on your freedom, but rather the simplest, easiest act of kindness that you can do in a day," he explained. "Not just for yourself, but for other people who might have autoimmune issues. People who, if they were to contract COVID with those issues might have some devastating repercussions."

He finished the video by challenging his 1.8 million Instagram followers to make wearing a mask their daily "good deed." "If you have the freedom to leave your house, if you have the good health to leave your house, why not put on a mask, make it your good deed for the day and do something nice for yourself and other people," Levy concluded.

As People mentions, Levy's sister and Schitt's Creek co-star, Sarah Levy, commented on the video. "So good," she said. Levy's message was also endorsed by Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan. "Thank you Mr. Levy," Morgan wrote.
