Colin Jost doesn't know when he'll be able to get married to Scarlett Johansson, but he doesn't think it will be any time soon! As Entertainment Tonight mentions, Jost called into Andy Cohen's radio show on SiriusXM, Andy Cohen Live, to talk about how the coronavirus pandemic has put their nuptials on hold.
Jost addresses logistics of marriage in times of pandemic
Jost mentioned that he and Johansson have "of course" had conversations about what eventually getting married down the road will look like. That's because the current state of things means not only are social gatherings questionable, but the court system isn't functioning as per usual.
"We don't know what's even legally allowed, right?" he said. "This is also not the time to get all your elderly, at-risk relatives together in one big group." Jost admitted that he's currently unsure "when that moment will be" that will allow them to get married.
Jost is hopeful SNL will return "as close to normal as possible"
Jost revealed that his and Johansson's wedding plans aren't the only uncertain thing about the future. "We don't know if we could do a live show for SNL yet, let alone have a wedding where the audience is elders," he said.
When it comes to SNL, Jost doesn't know what the sketch comedy show will look like upon its return in the fall. "We're waiting on … what the the New York state guidelines are, and what the rates of infection are, at that point," he shared.
"Of course we'd all love to do it in the studio and have an audience, and do it as close to normal as possible. But I don't know which stage we'll be in and what's feasible." Jost recently talked about being part of Saturday Night Live, sharing how the pandemic has given him time to reflect on his work environment. He's also been busy promoting his new memoir, A Very Punchable Face!
