The actor behind the dedicated detective, "Elliot Stabler", has been married since 1995! This is his wife, Sherman.
The Destined Law & Order: SVU Couple, Christopher Meloni and Sherman Williams
The pair met in 1989 when working on the same TV set, Sherman Williams as a production designer and Christopher Meloni as an actor. He was enamored with her right away because she dressed so stylishly with vintage glasses and always came to work on a motorcycle. He was smitten. Unfortunately, he had to wait because she had a boyfriend!

A few years later the pair began to date and married in July of 1995, in a medieval-themed wedding on a beautiful beach in Malibu. The two had completely separate lives, Sherman pursuing her work goals on the east coast and Chris pursuing his acting goals on the west coast but they managed to make it work and never spent more than 3 weeks apart.
Eventually Chris and Sherman settled in New York City where they had their first child Sophia in 2001, whom Law & Order: SVU co-star Mariska Hargitay is the godmother of!
Shortly thereafter in 2004, the pair had their second child, Dante. The family is incredibly close and Sherman and Christopher are always supporting and encouraging each other. Christopher frequently posts images of her art with sweet loving messages and Sherman is always on Christopher's arm at any event he is invited to.
