Her Polish grandparents were both involved in the Polish theater, and Christine knew at an early age she wanted to become an actress. After graduating NYC's prestigious Juilliard School in 1974 the actress would start her career on Broadway.

After starring in numerous Broadway plays including Hide & Seek (1980) and a Tony Award winning performance in The Real Thing (1984), Christine Baranski would venture into television with hit sitcom Cybill in 1995. The series ran for 3 years and, while she has been nominated 15 times, Christine would win her only Emmy Award to date for Outstanding Supporting Actress!
