Christie Brinkley was announced as part of the cast of celebrities to join in season 28 of Dancing With the Stars. However, bad news for Brinkley during rehearsal when she fell and broke her arm, requiring surgery to fix the damage. This meant that the former supermodel was not able to compete on the show. Thank goodness for her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook who stepped up to the plate and replaced her mom rather last minute.

Sailor Brinkley-Cook to the rescue

Sailor Brinkley-Cook, who is a 21-year-old Sports Illustrated model, revealed after the premiere of the show, that it wasn't very easy for her to step into her mom's dancing shoes. "I didn't want to at first, honestly, I was terrified. It was a very scary thing for me. The whole idea of having to be live on stage, be on TV dancing, that's something I've never done before," Sailor revealed to People Magazine.

Christie Brinkley is proud of her daughter

"My mom told me to have fun with it and to not let fear stop me from doing any of it," Sailor added. Sailor danced the foxtrot in a beautiful white full-length gown with her professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy to Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl". Both Christie and Val were so proud of Sailor and the challenge that she overcame for her mom. "I'm doing this mostly for my mom! I just want to make her happy and make her proud," gushed Sailor. We can't wait to see how the show progresses!
