Fourteen years after Michael Jackson's death, he is set to face allegations of molestation by choreographer Wade Robson when he was a child. Robson claims that the sexual misconduct occurred at the Neverland Ranch when he was between the ages of 7 and 14. However, a legal issue arose as Robson is suing Jackson's corporation, MJJ Productions Inc., whose lawyers argued that they were not responsible for protecting individuals from Jackson's actions, as he was beyond their control. Despite this argument, the California Court of Appeal has made a tentative ruling that the case will be sent back to trial, potentially subjecting Jackson's corporation to scrutiny over the alleged abuse.

Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood producer, was convicted of three additional charges of sexual assault on December 19, 2022. The charges included sexual assault on an Italian model identified as Jane Doe #1, sexual battery against Lauren Young, and sexual assault and forcible oral copulation of Siebel Newsom, the wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Weinstein faced a total of seven charges during the trial, including forcible sexual assault, sexual battery, forcible oral copulation, and penetration by a foreign object, with convictions on three of the charges.

Already serving a 23-year sentence from his previous sexual assault conviction in New York in 2020, Weinstein now faces an additional maximum sentence of 18 to 24 years in prison for these new convictions.
