Cardi's clap back
“Y’all really need to relax,” Cardi wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Oct. 5. “This is how my body REALLY LOOKS LIKE.” The “W.A.P.” rapper added that her hourglass figure has been “exaggerated” recently due to the shapewear she’s been sporting. “I want yall to think wit yall brain,” she added. “Yall was just praising my body couple days ago …do yall think I went and got surgery in 2 days?”
Cardi, who shares daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 3, with Offset, welcomed her third child on Sept. 7. In the time since, she shared that she’s returned to the gym, working out one week after giving birth.
And shortly after giving a glimpse into her workout routine, Cardi clapped back at critics who said she shouldn’t be working out so early in her postpartum journey.
She felt the need to clarify further.
“This is my third baby and postpartum is a little different from my first two,” the rapper replied to a person on X who called out the pressure for women to “bounce back” after having a child on Sept. 16.
“I’m not doing [heavy] lifting, no muscle straining, squatting none of that… just cardio. Sometimes to avoid postpartum depression you gotta keep your mind busy and for me that’s work and staying active.”
The Grammy winner also opened up previously about a procedure she had done back in January to extract her butt injections.
“In January right after I shot ‘Like What,’ I went and got surgery,” Cardi said on Instagram Live on Sept. 29. “I got some more butt injections removed because you know it takes rounds to get your butt injections removed, and I also went to fix certain things with my fibrosis."
