- Emma Heming-Willis talks about her husband Bruce
- She explains how the family deals with his dementia
- She said THIS to 'Today'
Emma Heming-Willis (45) is close to tears as she talks about her husband Bruce Willis (68). At the beginning of last year it was announced that the actor suffers from aphasia, a special form of dementia. The news was one of the stories of the year, because it meant the end of his run in Hollywood.
The family is still adjusting
Sadly, simple skills such as speaking, reading or writing are affected by Bruce's condition. She now says this about her husband's illness: "Dementia is hard. When they say that this is a family disease, it really is," she said on 'Today'. When asked if Bruce knew what was happening, she replied: "Hard to say."
Also interesting:
"It's a blessing and a curse at the same time," she says of his disease. It's helpful to understand what's happening, but that doesn't make things "less painful"...
