Brad Pitt described to Esquire an evening he had partying with Brandon Lee where he expressed fears that he would die young, just like his father, Bruce Lee. "He drove a hearse and lived in Echo Park. We went out one night and everyone else had peeled off, and we ended up back at his place and it was like six in the morning. A real, you know, drunk and stony night, and he proceeded that night to tell me how he thought he was going to die young like his dad."

Brad Pitt continued that he just chalked the comment up to a 6 a.m. drunk and stony talk and then the following year, The Crow incident happened. Brandon Lee was shot and killed with a defective blank on the set of The Crow on March 31, 1993. The freak accident was an absolute tragedy as he was only 28 years old.
