This year has been tough on everyone. This past week, actors Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively decided to give back to charities near and dear to their hearts.
Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds Donate $500,000 To Canadian Charities
Ryan and Blake aren't just the down-to-earth celebrity couple we see posting hilarious content online these days- the famous duo also gives back to their communities! The two donated $250,000 to the charities Covenant House Vancouver and Covenant House Toronto, which, according to their website, is:
"Providing love and hope to Vancouver's homeless and at-risk street youth. We help young people aged 16 to 24 who have fled physical, emotional and sexual abuse; those who have been forced from their homes; and those who have aged out of foster care."
Ryan, born in Vancouver himself, has been a long-time supporter of Covenant House. He stated,
"The young people who pass through the doors of Covenant House more often than not have a story marked by extraordinary trauma. They are so much more than that trauma. They have so much to offer the world. Matching this gift is saying you believe in them. You believe in the power of compassion to transform the trajectory of a human being.”
This isn't the first time Blake and Ryan have generously given back to those in need. Back in March, during the height and beginning stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple had also donated a total of $1 million to the organizations Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.

Blake and Ryan have certainly helped the lives of many homeless youth, as well as others deeply affected by the events of this year.
