Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell have revealed the gender of their baby through a very special photo! As Entertainment Tonight shares, the couple took to social media on Tuesday to make the big announcement, which was done with the help of one of their animal friends at the zoo!
Irwin announces she and Powell are expecting a baby girl
Irwin shared a picture of her and Powell at the Australia Zoo that shows pink flowers on the ground. A large tortoise can be seen in between the couple, while Powell holds up a sonogram. "Baby girl, you are our world. ❤️" Irwin wrote on Instagram. "Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can’t wait for her arrival next year."
Powell also shared the picture on his own Instagram account! "Our little girl and my beautiful wife are my entire world," he captioned the post. "I’m so excited to meet our daughter when she’s born next year and to see the incredible person she will grow up to be."
Irwin and Powell have been enjoying married life together
Irwin married Powell in March at the Australia Zoo, sharing a gorgeous photo of her with her new husband shortly afterwards! She also paid tribute to her late father— Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin— during the ceremony through a few thoughtful touches, including having a photo of him present. And instead of changing her last name to Powell, she also chose to keep the Irwin name to honour her dad!
In August, Irwin and Powell announced that they're expecting their first child together! Irwin's mother, Terri, reacted to the news, sharing that she felt Steve would be "so proud" of his daughter. Last month, Powell opened up about what life has been like with Irwin since, sharing that he feels "every day is incredible" with her!
As Entertainment Tonight mentions, Robert Irwin commented on his sister's gender reveal photo, sharing his enthusiasm for the news! "I can’t wait to meet my niece!" he wrote, including emojis of a smiling face with blushing cheeks, confetti, and a heart. We also can't wait to see Irwin and Powell's new arrival when she makes her debut in the world next year!
