Angelina Jolie talks about her "invisible" scars
Besides her split from Brad Pitt three years ago, Angelina Jolie underwent a double mastectomy in 2013 following a breast reconstruction as part of a cancer prevention treatment. Two years later she also had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. Angelina said she had a really hard time finding herself again after dealing with medical procedures; it took a while for her to feel like her old self.
The very talented actress also revealed how she struggled with certain situations when she was younger, like being labelled for being who she was. "At school I wasn’t that popular person; I was a punk. I loved leather," said Angelina, before explaining she considers labeling people and putting them into boxes is not freedom because "difference and diversity are what I value most—in my family and in others."

The gorgeous Angelina is very aware of the fact that people can't prevent pain but they can live better through it. Her way of doing that is by staying true to herself and having the freedom to speak openly about her life. "Nothing makes me smile more than when I see someone being fully themselves, with their own individual style and character, whatever that is," she explained.
Angelina Jolie said that she used to focus on what she didn't have when she was younger, but now she realizes the freedoms she had in comparison to other people. Nowadays she tries to make the best out of it and tries to be a better version of herself by having the freedom to build her family, to create art and play the characters she likes on screen. She also encourages people to live more fully, be curious, explore, and stand up for themselves, "My favorite place is somewhere I’ve never been. I like to be dropped into the middle of something new. Say the thing you’ve been afraid to say. Put down this magazine, and go and do one thing today you’ve never done before."
