- Angelina Jolie is a legendary Hollywood leading lady
- She has hinted at possibly leaving the game
- Angelina also opened up about her current life
In a jaw-dropping revelation that's set Tinseltown abuzz, Hollywood heavyweight Angelina Jolie, 48, has hinted at hanging up her acting boots for good! The Oscar-winning actress spilled the tea in 'Wall Street Journal Magazine's' latest issue, calling Hollywood a "shallow" place and expressing her yearning for the authentic vibe of Cambodia.
Angelina has turned a page in life
Jolie, caught in a seven-year divorce saga with heartthrob Brad Pitt, 59, confessed she's shackled by the legal tussle, which has clipped her wings, restricting her global gallivanting. "I lost the ability to live and travel as freely," she lamented.
But the 'Maleficent' star is determined to break free and make her Asian abode her sanctuary, once the dust settles on her custody battle over their six children.
The star-studded duo, who lit the flame of love on the set of 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' (2005), have since been entwined in one of the most public breakups ever witnessed. With the world's eyes glued to their courtroom clashes, Jolie has taken a step back from the limelight, focusing on healing and a mere handful of film appearances.
If she could choose now, she would do things differently.
'I wouldn’t be an actress today,' she admitted to the Wall Street Journal. "When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much." In light of her lengthy divorce proceedings with Pitt, Jolie hasn't had much freedom to travel, she claims.
"I don't feel like I've been myself for a decade, in a way. Which I don't want to get into," she told 'Vogue' earlier this year. While she declined to go into further detail, Jolie admitted that becoming a mother had changed her life for the better.
She adopted her first son, Maddox, from Cambodia when she was just 26. Jolie also shares Pax, 19, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, with ex-husband Pitt.
"They are the closest people to me and my life, and they’re my close friends," she tells the outlet. "We’re seven very different people, which is our strength. My entire life changed," Jolie reflected. "Having children saved me - and taught me to be in this world differently."
And life today is not very social at all. "I don’t really have … a social life," she confessed, noting that she currently isn’t dating either. "I realized my closest friends are refugees," she elaborated, describing her small circle of support. "Maybe four out of six of the women that I am close to are from war and conflict."

But don't think Jolie's passion for change is dimming anytime soon! While her acting may take a backseat, her entrepreneurial spirit is in full throttle. Introducing Altelier Jolie, her sustainable fashion brand, set to empower "individuality" and "freedom."
Plus, she's cooking up a New York City store, complete with a café run by refugee and immigrant chefs, and a space for educational events on artisanal techniques.
Despite the potential financial hit, Jolie's committed to an ethical fashion revolution. "If I can... just break even, that's a huge victory," she declares. As Jolie navigates the aftermath of her storied romance turned courtroom drama, her sights are set on a future where she can live, love, and create without the Hollywood hullabaloo.
