In December 2022, the world was rocked by the news that Stephen "tWitch" Boss, best known as the longtime DJ on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', had died by suicide at the age of 40. Weeks after his death, his wife, Allison Holker, made a shocking discovery, as she is now making it public.
"tWitch's" Widow: secret discoveries after his death
While rummaging through his closet, Allison Holker came across a variety of drugs, including mushrooms and other substances that she had to look up on the Internet. "I was with one of my really dear friends, and we were cleaning out the closet and picking out an outfit for him for the funeral," Holker recalls in an exclusive interview with 'People'.
Holker describes this discovery as a "really triggering moment" that helped her to understand her husband's hidden struggles. The realization that he had hidden a lot from her made her doubt her previous perception of their relationship.
Allison Holker, who talks about her healing process in her new biography 'This Far', always believed that she and Boss had "very honest" communication. But the discovery of the drugs showed her an unknown side of her husband. "It was really hard to put all the pieces together," she says. By reading his diaries, she learned about the pain he carried within him and the secrets he hid even from his closest confidants.
Stephen Boss' inner struggles and double life
Stephen Boss, who was known as a former contestant and judge on 'So You Think You Can Dance' and as a DJ on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', was apparently struggling with an inner conflict. Holker describes how he was torn between his public persona "tWitch" and his private self, Stephen. "It did have me feel a lot of empathy towards him and sadness for all the pain that he was holding," she says.
