Adele confesses to alcohol dependancy before recent sobriety
'The Independent' reports that Adele recently revealed on stage that she has given up alcohol after going through a period of heavy drinking in her 20s. While at a recent concert in Las Vegas, the singer says she has been sober for a few months now.
"I stopped drinking… maybe, like, three and a half months ago," Adele says. "I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my 20s, but I miss it so much. I cut out caffeine [too]," she confesses.
In October of 2021, the now 35-year-old singer addressed her drinking habits in an interview with 'Vogue'.
"I was always very fascinated by alcohol. It’s what kept my dad from me. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it," Adele continues. Adele's recent sobriety comes as the singer prepares for her son, Angelo's, 11th birthday on October 19th.

"This week my son turns 11 years old. Can you believe that? We have got a busy week coming celebrating him. He is very much like me because I take my birthday very seriously," she says. "So, it is a whole week or a month celebration, which I think everyone should treat their birthday like," Adele concludes.
Adele’s long-awaited Las Vegas residency opened last year on November 18th and is scheduled to end this coming November 4th.
