- Adele is pausing on music
- She will be disappearing for a while
- THIS is why
Yes, you read that right! After wrapping up her electrifying "Weekends With Adele" concert residency in Las Vegas, which has had fans flocking to Caesars Palace since November 2022, Adele is saying goodbye to the stage—for now.
The Las Vegas Marathon and What's Next
"I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while." Adele has been performing her Weekends With Adele concert residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas since November 2022, and will conclude it on 23 November.
"My tank is quite empty from being on stage every weekend in Las Vegas. I don’t have any plans for new music, at all," Adele confessed to German broadcaster ZDF. But before she takes that well-deserved breather, the superstar isn't quite done.
Adele is set to dazzle Munich this summer with a concert residency that promises to be nothing short of spectacular. With 95% of the tickets already snapped up, fans are in for a treat as Adele plans to make 80,000 people feel like it's just "me and one of them" with the help of the largest screen ever used for a concert.
She said her sell-out shows at Caesar's Palace, which seats 4,000 people, have been a success but have also been emotionally draining
"Even though it's a very manageable size of crowd, it's really been an emotional exchange," she said. "I'm sure I'll feel even more like (that) every night after the shows in Munich. But it's a positive thing. It's just such an exchange of energy."
The Munich residency’s promoter Marek Lieberberg has said 95% of the tickets have been sold. The stage setup will feature the largest screen used for a concert, at 220m long and 30m tall.
Speaking to ZDF, Adele said: "The screen is enormous … [it will] make 80,000 people feel like it’s just me and one of them."
The Munich concert site, sprawling over 400,000 sq m, will feature an "Adele World" food hall, complete with an English-style pub. But what's interesting is Adele's observation about her European fans: "They are a bit quieter, so maybe that's because they're more polite, whereas Americans can be very, very loud."
A little break
"Weekends With Adele" has been acclaimed by audiences and critics, with clips frequently going viral thanks to her frank, empathetic interactions with fans.
Adele's candid and empathetic interactions with fans during her Vegas residency went viral, endearing her even more to her audience. And who could forget her fiery "shut up" to the Dutch crowd at the Euro 2024 championship during England's semi-final? Classic Adele!
While the news of Adele's hiatus may leave a void in the hearts of music lovers, it's a well-earned break for the singer whose latest album, "30," topped the UK and US charts. The lead single "Easy on Me" also reached No 1 in both countries, proving Adele's unwavering appeal.
