Adam Levine would love to perform at Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's wedding— if they asked him to! Levine recently talked to SiriusXM, where he poked fun at Shelton's past comments and shared his thoughts on participating in the couple's big day.
Levine jokes that Stefani and Shelton "can't afford" him to play
Levine mentioned that he'd seen Shelton casually namedrop him during an interview. He shared that he was "sitting in bed eating popcorn" when the country singer mentioned wanting him to perform at his wedding to Gwen Stefani! "And I'm like, 'Man, f**k you, I'm not gonna play at your wedding,'" he quipped.
His comments came after Shelton told late night talk show host Seth Meyers that the Maroon 5 singer was "gonna have to get the band together and come and play our wedding" back in December. "They can't afford me," Levine jokingly said, before explaining that Stefani and Shelton "haven't asked me yet."
Levine would be "honoured" to play for Stefani and Shelton
Levine went on to say he's not opposed to the idea of playing at their wedding if he was invited! "I was just texting with them. I love them so much," Levine said of his former fellow Voice coaches. "They're the best. I would love to. I'd be honored."
It could be a while before the couple ties the knot, since Stefani has shared she won't get married during the pandemic. That said, Levine's not convinced he's even up for consideration! "They won't ask me though," he said. "They'll probably get like Luke Bryan or something."
