Rachel Bloom is officially a new mom! On Wednesday, the actress announced via Instagram that she and her husband, Dan Gregor, have welcomed a daughter into their lives.
Sharing a photo of her with her new baby girl resting on her chest, Bloom also shared her gratitude to have her daughter at home with her. "She's here. She's home," Bloom wrote at the beginning of her caption, before going on to talk about the emotional intensity of the week.
Bloom details maternity ward's battle with COVID-19 in her post
Bloom explained that while her giving birth was part of what had made the week feel so demanding, someone close to her was also going through a difficult time. "Having a baby in the NICU during a pandemic while a dear friend was in the hospital 3,000 miles away made this by far the most emotionally intense week of mine and Gregor’s lives," she shared.
She then went on to talk about the experience of seeing the NICU workers aid her daughter, while also watching the shifting environment around her while the maternity ward geared up to face the COVID-19 crisis. "The whole family is now home safe and I am just so grateful to all of our medical workers," Bloom shared. "From those in our NICUs to those directly helping COVID patients like Adam, they are sacrificing so much to fight on the front lines of this war. Thank you thank you thank you".

Since the overall tone of her post was emotionally heavy, Bloom chose to end it on a humorous note to lighten the mood. "Brb, gonna go get to know the person who came out of my vagina," she wrote.
