A challenging father-son relationship
50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, is opening up about the strained relationship he shares with his first born child, Marquise Jackson.
He touched briefly on the matter during an interview for High Snobiety, promoting his new book, Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter.
“It’s a sad situation,” 50 Cent said.
“When you pray for success, you don’t necessarily pray for the things that come with it. It’s no such thing as success without jealousy without envy or entitlement," he continued.
50 Cent revealed that over the years he has spent over 1 million dollars in child support, although he does not suspect his son appreciates the effort made.
“His mum developed an entitlement that cannot be met, filtering that energy through his actual personal interests,” the rapper continued. “So, while being a privileged child, he feels deprived.”

The "Candy Shop" rapper also revealed that he doubts the relationship will be mended any time soon.
“I didn’t think that success would cost me my firstborn but it’s the situation it is,” he shared. "Like, my grandfather used to say, ‘If it rattles like a snake and slithers like a snake, is it a snake or do you need to be bit?’”
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's book is now available, as well as his hit TV series Power, available on STARZ.
