When an actor is ungrateful, unprofessional, rude or a troublemaker they can be easily kicked out of their TV show or movie. Doesn't matter how successful it is. It happened to Charlie Sheen, Two and a Half Men was a hit, but the actor was constantly partying, leaving professionalism behind and was not afraid to insult his employer.
