- Ed Sheeran causes a stir
- He attends the Darts Championship
- Drinks beer and flips the middle finger
Famous musician Ed Sheeran (33) became the center of attention at the PDC World Darts Championship in London on Friday. Accompanied by Roman Kemp, the former Capital DJ and current BBC One Show presenter, Sheeran was caught up in the lively atmosphere.
The duo was seen enjoying pints and chatting with the energetic crowd.
Ed Sheeran sets the mood – Too much of a good thing?
A self-confessed fan and sponsor of Ipswich Town FC, Sheeran initially tried to go unnoticed by wearing a baseball cap. However, darts fans quickly recognized him. When the crowd began singing Robbie Williams' "Angels", Sheeran eagerly joined in.
The mood shifted, though, when the fans started singing about Ipswich’s current position in the Premier League: "Ipswich will get beat wherever they go." In response, Sheeran humorously gave the middle finger and downed his drink in one go.
Stephen bunting meets prominent fans
Stephen Bunting, the top player of the afternoon session, was thrilled by the celebrity support. "It's amazing, I'm a big fan of his, even though he supports Ipswich Town," he said. Bunting also mentioned that his son Toby had spent some time with Sheeran, noting how such high-profile spectators add extra motivation for the players.
The presence of Sheeran and other celebrities, like Prince Harry, highlights the growing popularity of darts.
