Max George shares health update
"Yesterday I felt really unwell and was taken in to hospital. Unfortunately after some tests they’ve found that I have some issues with my heart.," Max George shared in an Instagram post. The accompanying photo shows him in a hospital bed, giving a thumbs-up and sporting a slight smile, reflecting his determination to stay positive even in tough times.
Heart issues lead to further testing
The singer's health issues necessitate a series of tests to determine the full extent of the heart problems. "I have a lot more tests to determine the extent of the problems and what surgery I will need to get me back on my feet," George explained.
The road to recovery could be challenging, but he remains hopeful: "It’s gonna be a difficult few weeks / months… and Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t exactly what I had planned! "
Family and Friends offer support
Despite the serious nature of the situation, the musician finds strength in the support of his loved ones. "But, as always, I’m surrounded with love and support from my wonderful partner Maisie, her family, my family and friends.. and I’m 100% in the best place." George describes the situation as "a huge shock," but also sees it as a lucky coincidence that the issues were discovered in time. His sense of humor remains intact: "I’ve probably got a month in a bed and there’s not THAT much to do!"
The outpouring of well wishes from his fans and bandmates, such as Siva Kaneswaran, highlights the solidarity during this challenging time. However, the planned reunion of The Wanted 2.0 is still uncertain. Two years ago, George had to cope with the loss of his bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away from a brain tumor. Now, George is focusing on his own health, but his optimistic update gives hope that he'll be back on stage soon.
