• Rick Ross had a scary night in Vancouver
  • There was a standoff after his performance
  • THIS is what went down

In an electrifying turn of events that has the celebrity world buzzing, Rick Ross found himself in the eye of the storm this Sunday night at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver. The cause? His daring choice to play Kendrick Lamar's hit "Not Like Us" has sparked a firestorm, leading to a confrontation that quickly escalated into a full-blown melee.

Diss Tracks, Drama, and a Dash of Hello Kitty

The night took a tumultuous turn when, according to TMZ, Ross was surrounded by a group of 15 men post-performance, creating a tense standoff that had social media in a frenzy.

The backdrop to this confrontation? A heated rivalry with none other than Drake, who previously took a jab at Ross in his diss track "Push Ups," claiming credit for Ross's chart-topping hits. Ross, never one to back down, responded with a track of his own, throwing accusations of plastic surgery into the mix.

While Ross did not address the apparent attack afterwards, he issued a farewell post to Vancouver on his Instagram.

"Vancouver it was fun, till next time," the artist wrote in a post next to a picture of a branded private jet.

In a video shared to X, formerly Twitter, Ross is seen in the middle of a crowd trading heated words with another man, who then appears to throw a punch at the rapper; a melee then breaks out.

Lindsay Sparrow, CFO of event organizer Canadian Events Agency, said she was backstage at the time of the fight.

She called it a "short altercation" that was quickly resolved by security, and came after Ross closed his set by playing Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us," a diss track that targets Toronto rapper Drake.

"Security did a great job and ... everyone exited safely, which is always our primary concern for everyone attending the festivals," Sparrow told CBC News.

Despite the chaos, Ross appeared unbothered, taking to Instagram with a casual post that read, "Vancouver, it was fun, till next time," conspicuously omitting any mention of the altercation.

Meanwhile, Drake seemed to revel in the drama, reportedly liking a video of the fight before dedicating his Canada Day to spreading national pride and showcasing his Hello Kitty nail art.

In true Rick Ross fashion, the rapper remains unfazed by the night's events, choosing to focus on his music and business ventures. His cool demeanor in the face of controversy has fans and followers alike admiring his ability to stay above the fray. As for Drake, his playful nod to the altercation and subsequent patriotic celebrations have added an intriguing layer to their ongoing saga.
