• Liam Neeson speaks out in new interview
  • The actor reflects on his career
  • And opens up about his dating life

Actor Liam Neeson, 72, opens up about his extraordinary life and career in the latest issue of 'People.' When asked if he’s currently dating, he responds simply, “No, in a word. I’m over it.”

Liam Neeson lost his wife in 2009

Neeson was married to actress Natasha Richardson from 1994 until her tragic passing in 2009. After her death, he briefly dated British PR expert Freya St. Johnston for two years. Prior to his marriage, Neeson was linked to several high-profile stars, including Barbra Streisand, Brooke Shields, and his 'Excalibur' co-star Helen Mirren.

While Neeson may have left romance behind, his life is full with his sons, Micheál (29) and Daniel (28), both of whom live near New York. Micheál is following in his father’s footsteps as an actor, while Daniel is an entrepreneur running his own tequila brand. The family keeps things low-key, enjoying movie nights and TV shows together. “We used to do a bit of fly-fishing together. We haven't done it for several years now,” Neeson shares.

Currently starring in the drama series 'Absolution' and set to appear in a reboot of 'The Naked Gun,' Neeson plans to take a couple of months off between projects. On an ideal day, he sleeps in and dives into crime novels by Patricia Cornwell or Nordic noir thrillers. “I’m an avid reader,” he notes.

“I’m incredibly lucky,” Neeson reflects. “Even on a bad day on a movie set, for example, I always nip myself and say, ‘Come on, come on. You have nothing to complain about.’ And it's true.”
