"Ian Beale" has been a character on EastEnders since 1985. In 2016, Woodyatt celebrated his 3000th episode on the show making him the longest-standing EastEnders actor on the show.
Adam Worked as a butcher
Woodyatt was born on 28 June 1968 in Walthamstow and then grew up in West London. After Woodyatt's attendance of the Sylvia Young Theatre School, he appeared in the children's drama The Baker Street Boys. He then took a break from acting and surprisingly worked as a Butcher in Wales for a short period of time.
Woodyatt began with theatre appearances before his role in EastEnders and didn't experience a breakthrough into the acting industry until his role as "Ian Beale" from 1985. During his time on the show his character "Ian Beale" has been everything from a loan shark to a property tycoon. He has also experienced countless dramatic story lines such as death threats, breakdowns, marriages, divorces and most recently "Lucy's" death.
In 2013, his long-time acting role in EastEnders was honoured at the British Soap Awards, where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his portrayal of "Ian Beale".
Where is the actor today?
In 2019, he appeared on Celebrity Masterchef and today the actor still features on EastEnders. Due to his lack of social media little is known of Woodyatt's personal life. However, he has been married to dancer Beverley Sharp since 1998. They got married at Disney World in Florida during a private ceremony they had arranged. The couple has two children.
