• The Bear is back for Season 3
  • There is a new director in town
  • THIS is Jeremy Allen White's take

Edebiri, primarily known for her captivating performance as "Sydney," has now donned the director's hat, offering a fresh perspective on the show's dynamic.

A Director Is Born

"I'm really grateful for the opportunity," Edebiri gushed to 'The Hollywood Reporter', her excitement palpable. Without leaning on any specific directorial inspiration, she credits the show's creator, Chris Storer, for her approach, focusing on maintaining a positive energy and clear communication on set.

"Energy kind of goes from top down," she explained, highlighting the importance of a good mood and decent talk in shaping the workday's flow.

Jeremy Allen White, the star of 'The Bear', didn't hold back in praising Edebiri's directorial debut, calling her a "natural" and lauding her confidence and intuition. The sentiment was echoed by Abby Elliott and Liza Colón-Zayas, who commended Edebiri's creativity, preparation, and ease of collaboration. "Her episode is beautiful," Elliott shared, reflecting the collective admiration for Edebiri's work.

"I’ve thought about directing a lot before — like with acting, there’s so many people who want to act, there’s so many people that really want to do it, and I really want to do it, and it really feels necessary for me as a person to be able to do it, and I don’t feel that way about directing," he explained.

"And I know how many people would just kill to have a moment to direct. If one day the material comes along where I’m like, ‘yeah, I feel like that’s my story or a story I have to tell,’ yeah sure, maybe. But, I don’t know. I’m sensitive to telling somebody else’s story, or a story that I feel like I’m not put on this earth to tell in some way."

As for the show itself, season three promises higher stakes and intense drama as "Carmy" (played by Jeremy Allen White) aims to elevate his Chicago restaurant to new heights.

"We're going for a [Michelin] star, it's real," White revealed, hinting at the relentless pursuit of perfection that defines the upcoming season.

With a stellar cast including Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Oliver Platt, plus a sprinkle of celebrity guest stars, the new season is set to captivate audiences once again.

The premiere event not only celebrated the show's return but also marked a significant milestone for Edebiri as she ventures into the realm of directing. With all episodes set to drop ahead of schedule, fans are eagerly awaiting to dive back into the high-stakes world of 'The Bear.'
