ABC's new summer drama Grand Hotel is a remake of the 2011 Spanish series, Gran Hotel which was set in the year 1905. The new show is executive-produced by Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and from what she has said, she has big plans for the show.

Grand Hotel is set in Miami Beach and all the action and drama takes place at the fictional "Riviera Grand" which is modeled after the famous Fontainebleau Miami Beach. The show will take place in modern day on the beautiful shores of South Beach with many of the cast members and production crew being Miami natives themselves.

The show centers around the last family-owned hotel in Miami Beach where provocative drama ensues in the lives of "Santiago Mendoza" and his second wife "Gigi", while their adult children indulge in the luxuries of success. Eva Longoria has done a phenomenal job producing, directing and even acting a bit on the show and we can't wait to see how it turned out.
