On Sunday February 3rd, 2019, actor and The Young & the Restless star Kristoff St. John was found dead in a home in California at just 52 years old. With the news of this unexpected and tragic death, St. John's former co-star and friend Shemar Moore has spoken publicly about the passing of his dear friend.
Shemar Moore: "He embraced me like a brother"
Kristoff St. John and Shemar Moore starred opposite each other on The Young & the Restless. St. John played "Neil Winters" and Moore played his half brother "Malcolm Winters". Moore describes Kristoff as being an incredible support system from day one on the show by saying, "he didn't have to embrace me the way he did. When I came in and was trying to find my way and he saw how scared I was, he saw how nervous I was [...] he embraced me like a brother" according to People.
Moore says he owes his life and his career to Kristoff St. John for opening the door for him and helping get his feet under himself in the early days. Moore has gone on to star in Criminal Minds and S.W.A.T. and really credits St. John for propelling his career. Moore is going to make sure that in everything that he does, he is going to do it to make St. John proud, from here on out.
Kristoff St. John: A Tragic Unexpected Death
Kristoff St. John has been through his fair share of adversity when he lost his 24-year-old son to suicide four years ago. His last social media appearance was a retweet concerning how hard the loss of a child is. Moore describes St. John as a goofy, silly and very talented guy. He has left behind his fiancée Kseniya Mikhaleva and his two daughters Paris and Lola. May he rest in peace.
