Brian Johnson, AC/DC's third lead singer, was born October 5, 1957 in Dunston, England and began performing at an early age. Starring in TV plays for the Scouts and singing in his church choir, it didn't take long for Brian to join a band.

The first band Brian sang for was called Gobi Desert Canoe Club, followed by the band Fresh, and playing in a cabaret band called the Jasper Hart Band. He eventually started his own band called Geordie, and Brian even released his first solo single, "I Can't Forget You Now"!

Brian Johnson would join AC/DC in 1980 following the death of legendary singer Bon Scott. Brian was the perfect choice to take over the lead singer role. Scottish brothers Angus and Malcolm Young knew Bon Scott would approve after all the praise he'd had for Brian as Scott had once said that Brian reminded him of his rock idol, Little Richard.

Just as devastated by Bon's passing, Brian Johnson didn't take long to acclimate into the group, and AC/DC's first album with Brian was released shortly after, Back in Black. A worldwide success the album would go on to become the second best-selling album ever!
